A dispute arose between me and my wife's sister, and as a result, I took an oath and said

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: A dispute arose between me and my wife's sister, and as a result, I took an oath and said: that my wife is divorced and becomes forbidden to me, like my mother or my sister — this divorce I pronounced to my wife — that I will not speak to your sister as long as I am alive. After that, I traveled abroad, and I have learned that a reconciliation has taken place between them. Also, I had previously taken an oath and paid the expiation for the oath, "I expiated for it". What is the ruling in this case?

Answer: The ruling in this case is that you mentioned that you divorced your wife and committed zihar by saying that you would not speak to her sister. If your intention in this was to prevent your wife from speaking to her sister, and you did not intend to effect a divorce, and you did not intend zihar, then the expiation for an oath is required of you, that you expiate for your oath, according to the correct opinion of the scholars. With this, these oaths are released, and Allah the Exalted knows best.
