The Third Criterion for the Success of the Awakening in the Ummah: A person must have little interest in this world and not make it his greatest concern

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
al-Eid Abbasi: And a third point I mentioned is that we should have little interest in this world, not making it our greatest concern, as was the case in the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) supplication at the end of the gathering:
and do not make this world our greatest concern, nor the limit of our knowledge
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3502Sahih (Darussalam)
For that is a characteristic of the disbelievers, as Allah Mighty and Majestic says:
They know what is apparent of the worldly life, but they, of the Hereafter, are unaware.
[Ar-Rum 30:7]
So, in contrast, it is obligatory for the believers that their greatest and most important knowledge be knowledge of the religion, of the Book and the Sunnah, and the guidance of the righteous predecessors. And Allah Mighty and Majestic clarifies in many verses the recompense of those who intend with their deeds this world and seek its benefits:
(15) Whoever desires the life of this world and its adornments - We fully repay them for their deeds therein, and they therein will not be deprived. (16) Those are the ones for whom there is not in the Hereafter but the Fire. And lost is what they did therein, and worthless is what they used to do.
[Hud 11:15-16]
(18) Whoever should desire the immediate - We hasten for him from it what We will to whom We intend. Then We have made for him Hell, which he will [enter to] burn, censured and banished. (19) But whoever desires the Hereafter and exerts the effort due to it while he is a believer - it is those whose effort is ever appreciated [by Allah]. (20) To each [category] We extend - to these and to those - from the gift of your Lord. And never has the gift of your Lord been restricted.
[Al-Isra 17:18-20]
If we want the Hereafter, it must be our constant practice to strive for the pleasure of Allah Mighty and Majestic.
That home of the Hereafter We assign to those who do not desire exaltedness upon the earth or corruption. And the [best] outcome is for the righteous.
[Al-Qasas 28:83]
I will complete something of the discussion on this topic today that was not finished yesterday.
