Does supplication have an effect in changing what was written for a person before his creation?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Does supplication have an effect in changing what was written for a person before his creation? May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : Yes, there is no doubt that supplication has an effect in changing what was written, but this change was also written as a result of the supplication. That is to say, do not think that if you supplicate to Allah, you are supplicating for something that is not written. Rather, the supplication is written, and what happens through the supplication is also written.
For this reason, we find that a reciter recites over a sick person and he is cured. And the story of the secret group that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent, who descended upon a people as guests, but the people did not host them. So Allah (Mighty and Majestic) decreed that their master was bitten by a snake. They asked for a reciter to recite over him, so they came to the secret group of Companions and said, "Is there any of you who can recite?" They said, "Yes, but we will not recite over him except for a fee, for compensation." So they gave them a flock of sheep. Then the reciter went to recite over this bitten man who had been bitten by the snake. He recited Surat al-Fatihah over him, so the bitten man rose up as if he had been untied from his tether, meaning as if he were a camel whose tether had been untied. Did it have an effect on him or not? It had an effect, without a doubt.
And all people know that supplication has an effect, but this is not a change of the divine decree, because this supplication is written, and what results from it is also written. And everything is with Allah by a measured term and with perfect wisdom.
And based on this, we say: All causes have an effect on their effects by the permission of Allah, and the causes are written, and the effects are written.
Yes.
