The questioner : May Allah reward the honorableThe Shaykh : A boy who reached puberty seven days ago and has not performed a single prayer up to now, and he wants to perform Hajj; is it upon the people to prevent him from Hajj because he is a disbeliever, or should they prevent him?

The Shaykh : It is obligatory for this boy who reached puberty seven days ago to pray, and it is obligatory for his guardian to order him to pray. I do not think that a boy of this age would refrain from praying; the one who is feared to refrain from praying is the older one. As for this one, as soon as his father says to him, "Pray," and obligates him, he will pray. So we obligate him to pray, and I do not think that one who has been an adult for seven days, and perhaps reached puberty before completing fifteen years, would refrain from his father if he orders him to pray.
