What is the validity of the common saying: "Whoever has performed Hajj should leave the space for others," and what is better for a man who performs Hajj voluntarily with a group that he benefits and advises, or should he not perform Hajj?

The questioner : May Allah reward the honorableThe Shaykh : The soul yearns for Hajj, but we hear words from people that we do not know whether they are correct or not. They say, "Whoever has performed Hajj should leave the space for others," even though we know that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) commanded us to provision ourselves. Is the people's saying that whoever has performed Hajj should leave the space for others correct? And if a person goes to Hajj, perhaps Allah will benefit many through him, whether those who come to these lands or those from his own country who accompany him, what do you say, may Allah guide you?

The Shaykh : We say that this saying is not correct, meaning the saying that whoever has performed the obligatory Hajj should sit in his land and leave the space for others, because the texts indicate the virtue of Hajj. It was narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
Perform Hajj and 'Umrah consecutively, for they remove poverty and sin as the bellows removes impurity from iron and gold and silver تابعوا بين الحج والعمرة فإنهما ينفيان الفقر والذنوب كما ينفي الكير خبث الحديد والذهب والفضة

. A sensible person can go to Hajj without harming others or being harmed, if he is lenient with people. If he finds a spacious area, he does what he is able to do of obedience. If the place is crowded, he treats himself and others as this crowding requires. For this reason, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) departed from 'Arafah, he ordered the people to be calm and pulled the reins of his camel tightly, meaning he pulled them hard, until her head touched the humps of her saddle due to the intensity of his pulling. But when he found a gap, the scholars said: "meaning, if he finds space, he speeds up". This indicates that the pilgrim should deal with the situation he is in. If he finds crowding, he should be slow in his walking and be lenient with people, and by this, he will not be harmed nor harm others. This is what we see in this matter: that a person performs Hajj, seeks help from Allah the Exalted in performing Hajj, fulfills what is obligatory upon him, and strives not to harm anyone or be harmed to the best of his ability. Yes, if there were a benefit more beneficial than Hajj.
- Pray, O you who pray, two rak'ahs.
If there were something more beneficial than Hajj, such as some Muslims needing money for jihad in the path of Allah, then jihad in the path of Allah is better than Hajj, and in that case, he spends this money on the mujahideen in the path of Allah. Or if there is severe hunger among the Muslims, then spending the money to remove this hunger is better than performing Hajj with it. Yes.
