Is (the image is the head) a hadith, and where is it?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The hadith "the image is the head" or in this meaning, is this a hadith?

The Shaykh : It is a valid hadith. First, it came with this wording: "the image is the head." Second, the representation of a person, as is known today through passports and IDs and so on, is not what is below the head, but rather the head. And secondly, this is the most important point from the Islamic and jurisprudential perspective: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), as came in a hadith narrated by a group of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and this is rare for a single hadith to be narrated by a group of Companions, and this hadith is among those rare ones, where it was narrated by Umm Salama, and it was narrated by Aisha, and it was narrated by Abu Hurayrah. They narrated the following story: that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)
He had an appointment with Jibril (peace be upon him), and he was seen as if he was distressed, and he was in the house, in the courtyard. Some of his family sensed that, so they asked him. He said: "Jibril promised me that he would come to me, but he has not come." And then Jibril appeared at the door, waving and showing himself. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to him, and Jibril (peace be upon him) addressed him with the words: "We, the angels, do not enter a house in which there is an image or a dog."
I saw there images and dogs, unfortunately, and therefore he said: Angels do not enter a house in which there is an image or a dog.

Another questioner : Did you hear it clearly?

The Shaykh : No, I heard it well, if Allah wills, but the best of this is that it be executed with "Bismillah."

The Shaykh : May Allah reward you.
Abu Layla: In health and well-being.

The questioner
The image is the head.
Where is this hadith reported?

The Shaykh : In Sahih al-Jami' al-Saghir.

The questioner :
The image is the head
؟

The Shaykh : He is asking about this.

Another questioner : The text:
The image is the head

The Shaykh
The image is the head
In Sahih al-Jami', and it is mentioned in the sources I cite, namely Ma'jam al-Isma'ili. The witness: I want to complete the hadith of Jibril. He said:
We, the angels, do not enter a house in which there is an image or a dog. So look, for there is a puppy in the house. And look, for there is a curtain in the house with images of men. So he ordered the puppy to be taken out and its place to be sprinkled with water, and he ordered the image to be changed until it becomes like the form of a tree.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : It is not possible for the image to change and become like the form of a tree.

The questioner : Unless the head is cut off.

The Shaykh : Unless the head is removed, either removed absolutely or by altering it.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Do you understand me?

The questioner : Altering it like this and this.
So they looked and found under the bed of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a puppy that al-Hasan or al-Husayn had brought.
A small child to play with.
So it was taken out and its place was sprinkled with water. Then they took the curtain and removed it and changed its shape until it became like the form of a tree. So Jibril (peace be upon him) entered.
So, "the image is the head" is correct in narration and in meaning, unlike the previous hadith which was weak in narration and fabricated in meaning.
Al-Halabi : Yes, my Shaykh, this hadith has a continuation that helps with the meaning you pointed to regarding the meaning.

The Shaykh : Please go ahead.
Al-Halabi : And it is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
So if the head is cut off, there is no image.

The Shaykh : Well done.
Al-Halabi : The continuation of the hadith itself.

The Shaykh : Yes, may Allah reward you with good. This is the decisive resolution of the issue. Good.
