What is the difference between swearing by Allah in speech and swearing by the mushaf?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the difference between swearing by Allah in speech and swearing by the mushaf? I hope for your guidance.

The Shaykh : Swearing by Allah is the original practice, but if a person swears by the mushaf and intends the words of Allah contained in it, there is no harm, because the words of Allah the Exalted are one of His attributes, and it is permissible to swear by an attribute of Allah. However, if he intends the mushaf itself, which is the paper and leather, then it is not permissible to swear by it. This is because swearing by other than Allah is disbelief or associating partners with Allah. This includes swearing by the Prophet, or by the Ka'bah, or by Jibril, or by Mika'il, or by the sun, or by the moon, or by the sky, or by the earth.
He who swears by anyone or anything other than Allah, has indeed committed an act of Kufr or Shirk من حلف بغير الله فقد كفر أو أشرك
Riyad as-Salihin 1711
But either his disbelief is of the kind that expels him from the religion, as if he believed that the thing by which he swore possesses of greatness and authority what Allah Mighty and Majestic possesses; this is major disbelief and major shirk. Or, if he swears by it out of reverence, but less than the reverence for Allah Mighty and Majestic, then he does not commit major disbelief, but he commits minor disbelief and minor shirk. In any case, swearing by other than Allah the Exalted is forbidden and not permissible.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah bless you and your knowledge, and benefit the Muslims through you.
