The questioner : He says: My children, some of whom are adults and some of whom are married, and when I wake them for the Fajr prayer they do not wake up, and they pray Fajr at home while maintaining the other prayers in the mosque. So I go to the mosque for the Fajr prayer while they are at home, and I do everything I can so that they pray in the mosque. Is there a sin on me for their not attending the Fajr prayer?
The Shaykh : There is no sin on you for their not attending the Fajr prayer, as long as you have established them and woken them up, and then they went back to sleep, because you have done the obligatory duty that Allah has made obligatory upon you, which is waking the sleeper. However, I advise your children, may Allah reform them, to leave laziness and to get up with energy to perform the prayer with the congregation. For whoever prays the Fajr prayer in congregation is in the trust of Allah, meaning in the covenant of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and in His safety. And let them know that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sunan Ibn Majah 797Sahih (Darussalam).

The most burdensome prayers for the hypocrites are the 'Isha' prayer and the Fajr prayer. If only they knew what (reward) there is in them, they would come to them even if they had to crawl.
