The Shaykh : And it is sufficient for me to remind you of what the two Shaykhs narrated in their Sahihs from the hadith of 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that 'Umar ibn al-Khattab was delivering the Friday sermon in the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) mosque when a man from among the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered; in one narration, it was 'Uthman ibn 'Affan. 'Umar interrupted his sermon and turned toward this man who had been late in coming early to attend the remembrance and hear the Friday sermon. The man replied, "O Commander of the Faithful, I did nothing but hear the adhan, perform wudu, and come to the mosque." 'Umar rebuked him with a rhetorical question of disapproval: "Wudu as well? And I have heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: " The point of this is that he publicly rebuked 'Uthman ibn 'Affan in the presence of witnesses because he was late in attending the Friday prayer and the Friday sermon.
We return to what we were discussing. The principle of teaching and reminding is based on concealing people’s faults, unless the public interest requires otherwise. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) acted according to this principle when he delivered a sermon regarding a group of men; he referred to them by their kunyas and did not name any of them.Sunan Abi Dawud 4788Sahih (Al-Albani) The point is that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This is a direct response to what they said, excusing his (peace be upon him) lesser worship by claiming that Allah had forgiven him what had passed of his sin and what was to come. Meaning, I do not fast the entire year. Meaning, I do not keep the entire night awake, as some extremists in worship do, adding to and correcting the worship of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) by keeping the entire night awake in prayer, worship, and recitation of the Qur'an. This is contrary to the guidance of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). Therefore, the Lady 'Aishah said, as in Sahih Muslim, "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) never kept the entire night awake." Then the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said, reminding that the Shari'ah is a middle path and worship is a middle path, with no excess or negligence: Thus, the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in what has come to us of Islam is what every Muslim must adhere to. I guarantee that Dawud (peace be upon him), whose status the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) testified to earlier, being the most worshipful of people, if he had lived after the sending of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) with this complete and perfect Islam, would not have been able to encompass in his actions all the worship of the Messenger, meaning all the worship that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) brought by his saying, doing, or approval. For this reason, there is no room for any Muslim to add to worship after Allah the Exalted completed His religion by sending His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with this complete Islam. And since we know that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is the most worshipful, most God-fearing, and most reverent of people, there is nothing but following the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). We are certain that we will not be able to circle around the worship of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) except briefly, or for a short time; otherwise, we are completely incapable of being affected by it or following the steps of the Messenger in his worship. This is impossible for all of humanity after the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Whoever among you comes to the Friday prayer, let him perform ghusl
