A reminder of what a Muslim should do regarding the limits set for him by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : If the matter is as you have described, then every Muslim should know his place and stand by what his Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has set for him in terms of acts of worship and obedience. The pen has dried up with what has preceded from the Shari'ah, and there is no longer any room for juristic preference in an act of worship that did not exist in the early times. Our righteous predecessors (may Allah be pleased with them) proceeded in this manner, knowing the status of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in that, first, he delivered the message and conveyed the trust, as you know, and that he was the most worshipful of Allah's servants, the most severe in worship, and the most fearful of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Therefore, there is no room for correcting him, first from the legislative aspect, as you heard in the verse and in Imam Malik's commentary on it, and second from the aspect of claiming that there is someone more worshipful than the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); this is impossible. Whoever knows these two facts related to his faith, that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger, will restrict his worship of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) to what came to him from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and will not place before him any role model other than the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
