The Shaykh’s reminder of what a Muslim must observe regarding the limits set for him by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : If that is the case, then every Muslim should know his place and stand by what his Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has set for him in terms of acts of worship and obedience. The pen has dried up with what has preceded from the Shari'ah, and there is no room left for preferring an act of worship that did not exist in the early times. Our righteous predecessors (may Allah be pleased with them) proceeded in this manner, knowing the status of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in that, first, he delivered the message and conveyed the trust, as you know, and that he was the most devout of Allah’s servants, the most severe in worship, and the most fearful of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Therefore, there is no room for correcting him, first from the legislative aspect, as you heard in the verse and in Imam Malik’s commentary on it, and second, from the claim that there is someone more devout than the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). This is impossible. Whoever knows these two facts related to his faith—that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger—will restrict his worship of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) to what came to him from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and will not place before him a role model other than the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
In support of this second aspect, namely that it is impossible for a believer to conceive that anyone is more mindful of Allah, more fearful of Allah, or more devout in worship of Allah than the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). This is impossible.
