The Shaykh’s explanation of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): “...Allah has afflicted you with a humiliation that He will not remove from you until you return to your religion.”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : ...The saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)
When you enter into the inah transaction, hold the tails of oxen, are pleased with agriculture, and give up conducting jihad (struggle in the way of Allah). Allah will make disgrace prevail over you, and will not withdraw it until you return to your original religion. إذا تبايعتم بالعينة وأخذتم أذناب البقر ورضيتم بالزرع وتركتم الجهاد في سبيل الله سلط الله عليكم ذلا لا ينزعه عنكم حتى ترجعوا إلى دينكم
Sunan Abi Dawud 3462Sahih (Al-Albani)
, and the discussion and speech at that time stopped at this last phrase of this authentic hadith, which is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him)
Allah will make disgrace prevail over you, and will not withdraw it until you return to your original religion. سلط الله عليكم ذلا لا ينزعه عنكم حتى ترجعوا إلى دينكم
Sunan Abi Dawud 3462Sahih (Al-Albani)
. So his saying (may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him)
until you return to your original religion حتى ترجعوا إلى دينكم
Sunan Abi Dawud 3462Sahih (Al-Albani)
draws attention to the fact that the cure for Muslims to be delivered from this humiliation that has settled upon them is only by returning to the religion. This was known in the era of Prophethood and Messengership, because the religion was never pure except when it descended upon the heart of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fresh and new. After that, people began to deviate with it to the right and to the left, through figurative interpretation and denial of the divine attributes. Therefore, for Muslims today to attain their honor, strength, and security, and thereby be delivered from the humiliation that has settled upon them, it is only by returning to the purified Islam that our Lord has chosen for us as a religion.
