The Shaykh : In some of the lectures, I mentioned that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the well-known hadith:
When you enter into the inah transaction, hold the tails of oxen, are pleased with agriculture, and give up conducting jihad (struggle in the way of Allah). Allah will make disgrace prevail over you, and will not withdraw it until you return to your original religion.
Sunan Abi Dawud 3462Sahih (Al-Albani)
. I said: Because this hadith describes part of the state of the Muslims when they are humiliated, and this is their reality—regrettably—today. They are the most humiliated in some of their lands, which were taken from their hands, and the disbelievers dominated them. The clearest example of that is Palestine, which contains al-Aqsa Mosque. The Jews have dominated it, and the Muslims have not been able to expel them from it. This is a humiliation that has settled upon the Muslims, and there is no humiliation greater than it. The Messenger (peace be upon him) explained that the cause of the humiliation is the Muslims' deviation from their religion:
When you enter into the inah transaction, hold the tails of oxen, are pleased with agriculture, and give up conducting jihad (struggle in the way of Allah). Allah will make disgrace prevail over you, and will not withdraw it until you return to your original religion.
Sunan Abi Dawud 3462Sahih (Al-Albani)
; so he described the disease and described the cure, which is returning to the religion. Returning to the religion in any concept. So the cure is returning to the religion, because Allah says:
Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam
[Ali 'Imran 3:19]
,
And whoever desires other than Islam as religion - never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers.
[Ali 'Imran 3:85]
