The Shaykh : What is the authenticity of this hadith
Greet the Christians, but do not greet the Christians of my Ummah. It was said: Who are they, O Messenger of Allah? He said: They are those who abandon prayer. سلموا على النصارى ولا تسلموا على نصارى أمتي قيل من هم يا رسول الله قال هم تاركوا الصلاة
?

The Shaykh : This is a fabricated hadith attributed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); it is a lie and has no basis. The hadiths that urge the Muslim to maintain prayer and explain the outcome for the one who neglects it or is lazy in it are numerous and very numerous. A good portion of them has been mentioned previously in this book of ours, such as his saying (peace be upon him)
Between disbelief and a man abandoning prayer, so whoever abandons prayer has committed disbelief. بين الكفر وبين الرجل ترك الصلاة فمن ترك الصلاة فقد كفر
This authentic hadith suffices us in place of such a fabricated hadith, or any other.
