Calling the Christians

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: If the Christians are gathered in one of the public squares for a celebration of Christmas, as they claim it to be, and a caller to Allah wants to go to them and advise them, knowing that they may give him an opportunity to speak, is that permissible for him or not?
A: It is prescribed for a Muslim to go to the gatherings of disbelievers and innovators to convey to them the religion of Allah. Rabi'ah ibn 'Abbad al-Dili narrated, saying:
I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at Dhi al-Majaz calling people, and behind him was a man with a squint who was saying, "Do not let this man turn you away from the religion of your gods." I asked, "Who is this?" They said, "This is his uncle, Abu Lahab."رأيت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بذي المجاز يدعو الناس، وخلفه رجل أحول يقول: لا يصدنكم هذا عن دين آلهتكم، قلت: من هذا؟ قالوا: هذا عمه أبو لهب
. It was narrated by Ahmad with a good chain of transmission.
