The Shaykh : We are still in the first section on encouraging the accompaniment of the dead and attending their burial. In the previous lesson, we read the first hadiths of this section, so let us continue with the remaining hadiths of this section.
The fourth hadith is the first of this lesson. We passed over the one before it because it is weak. The fourth hadith is the statement from Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:Sahih Ibn Hibban 10:1087 Ibn Hibban narrated it in his Sahih.
This hadith, like the previous hadiths in this section, was covered in some of the older lessons, and we discussed it there, so there is no need for us to repeat the discussion. The same applies to the following hadith, so we will remind you of it and then move on to the hadith after it. It says: “And from him, meaning Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih Ibn Hibban 11:65 Ahmad, al-Bazzar, and Ibn Hibban in his Sahih narrated it. It and others were mentioned earlier in the chapter on visiting the sick.
However, I will mention here something brief, which is his statement (peace be upon him) in this hadith: The author followed this with the second hadith from Abu Hurayrah, which clarifies this part of Abu Sa’id’s hadith. And his statement (peace be upon him): “And follow the funerals” clarifies that following the funeral takes place in two stages. The first stage is from the house to the mosque or the prayer place to pray over the deceased. The second stage, which is more complete, is accompanying the funeral procession after the prayer until attending the burial. The following hadith clarifies the difference in reward and virtue between the first stage and the second stage, as you will hear clearly. It says:

Five deeds, if a person does them in one day, Allah records him among the people of Paradise: visiting a sick person, attending a funeral, fasting one day, going to the Friday prayer, and freeing a slave
