Continuation of the Shaykh’s advice on explaining the virtue of the five daily prayers.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : As he (peace be upon him) said:
It has been written for the son of Adam his share of zina, and it will surely overtake him. His share of zina.
, because zina has degrees and ranks, as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned in this hadith:
It has been written for the son of Adam his share of zina, and it will surely overtake him. The eye commits zina, and its zina is the glance. The ear commits zina, and its zina is hearing. The hand commits zina, and its zina is touching.
, meaning touching, i.e., shaking hands, which has become a custom today but was not a custom in the lands of Islam; rather, it entered them due to the colonization of the lands of Islam by the disbelievers.
The hand commits zina, and its zina is touching. The foot commits zina, and its zina is walking. And the private parts confirm all of this or deny it.
Is it possible for a person to escape from it? It is the fruit of these preliminaries, which is zina. As for the glance, it is the treacherous one; none escape from it except the prophets, the truthful ones, and their like. So these are the sins that the tongue falls into, from the minor sins, let alone if there is something of the major sins. What is its expiation? What is its kaffarah? Materially? The one who does not seek treatment, his end is destruction, because germs and microbes accumulate upon him, so the end of his affair is destruction. Likewise, from the spiritual and moral aspect, the Muslim who does not pray is certainly drowning in sins and transgressions. It is not as we sometimes hear from some of the youth; we say, "O my brother, pray," and he says, "What is the deal with prayer?" But the deal with leaving prayer is something strange, a strange logic. "Something with prayer" — what would it be? What would it become? He tells you, "What is in the heart as well." This is arguing with falsehood, which Satan whispered to his allies among the jinn. Because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the authentic hadith:
Beware! There is a piece of flesh in the body if it becomes good (reformed) the whole body becomes good but if it gets spoilt the whole body gets spoilt and that is the heart.
Sahih al-Bukhari 52
So how can we imagine a Muslim whose heart is white while he does not pray? His heart is not white, and therefore it does not beat with this spiritual life at all. He tells you, "This misguided poor youth, something with prayer." Yes, something with prayer, because Allah narrated about the disbelievers in Hell when they regret, that one of them says:
(43) They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, (44) Nor did we used to feed the poor. (45) And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], قَالُوا لَمْ نَكُ مِنَ الْمُصَلِّينَ وَلَمْ نَكُ نُطْعِمُ الْمِسْكِينَ وَكُنَّا نَخُوضُ مَعَ الْخَائِضِينَ
[Al-Muddaththir 74:43-45]
.
So prayer is necessary for two reasons: First, it is an obligation (fard), which Allah has made obligatory, so we worship Allah with it. And the second is that it is a cure for these sins that surround the person. Prayer is the pillar of the religion and the head of the religion. It is sufficient for us what we heard just now from the saying of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever leaves a prayer, meaning one prayer, has broken the covenant of Allah and His Messenger.
As for combining the five prayers in one time, this is the one who does not perform these prayers, meaning he is the least misguided. I almost said he is on the straighter path, but of course he is not guided, but he is the least misguided. As for the one who combines these prayers, he is more misguided. Why? Because he thinks he is praying, while in reality he is not praying, because prayer, as Allah the Exalted said:
Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times.
[An-Nisa 4:103]
So he does not pray the five prayers in their times, so this is not prayer. Second, he legislates and falls into shirk (associating partners with Allah); he legislates what Allah has not legislated. Allah the Exalted said:
Or have they other deities who have ordained for them a religion to which Allah has not consented?
[Ash-Shuraa 42:21]
So these young people who prefer worldly life over the Hereafter must maintain the prayers in their times and not work with a teacher or boss who imposes upon them what is contrary to what Allah has imposed upon them. There is no prayer for us, there is no sheikh for us. So when the Muslim youth is surprised by such a condition, Allah’s condition is more worthy, and the condition of others is invalid. And every condition, as he (peace and blessings be upon him) said on this occasion:
Every conditions that is not in the Book of Allah (SWT) is invalid, even if there are one hundred conditions
Sunan Ibn Majah 2521Sahih (Darussalam)
So these people must be advised, reminded, and made aware of their religion. ... He (peace be upon him) said in the authentic hadith:
O people, fear Allah, for none of you will die until he completes his provision and his term. So be beautiful in your seeking, for what is with Allah is not attained through haram (forbidden means).
So we say to the youth, you must strive for lawful earnings, not unlawful earnings, lawful earnings. And we do not say to him, "Do not work." Work, as in the Qur'an in many verses, including what I referred to, and including the day of Friday, which the Muslims, by mistake and imitation of the disbelievers,
And when the prayer has been concluded, disperse within the land and seek from the bounty of Allah
[Al-Jumu'ah 62:10]
, the day of Friday, they suspend it today, imitating the Christians and the Jews. The Jews have Saturday, and the Christians have Sunday. So why should we not have a day like the Jews and the Christians? What Allah willed, our Lord says in the clear Qur'an:
And when the prayer has been concluded, disperse within the land and seek from the bounty of Allah
[Al-Jumu'ah 62:10]
.
What does the Muslim need more than this verse, which encourages striving for earnings? But this does not mean seeking earnings through haram (forbidden means), or leaving prayer to please your boss. No, the matter of striving for earnings is one thing, and the matter of maintaining worship and prayer while engaging in the means of earning is another thing. Go ahead, my brother, what do you have?
