A man who did not stay overnight at Muzdalifah and prayed the Fajr prayer at Mina: what is the ruling on his Hajj?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What are the consequences for the pilgrim who does not stay overnight at Muzdalifah?

The Shaykh : Where did he pray the Fajr prayer?

The questioner : He prayed at Mina.

The Shaykh : He has no valid Hajj.

The questioner : ... whereas they asked a Shaykh in Saudi Arabia, and he said: that they must offer a sacrificial animal, and even thisThe Shaykh : went to speak to them and said: an order came to us from the Saudi government to follow you, and what is our sin...

The Shaykh : This is an example of what we were discussing earlier regarding the purification and education of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). A man came to him while he was in the gathering at Muzdalifah and said: O Messenger of Allah, I have not left a mountain or a valley without crossing it until I came to the gathering. He said to him:
Did you stand at 'Arafah? هل وقفت في عرفات
He said: Yes. He said - (peace and blessings be upon him) - :
Whoever prayed our prayer with us in the gatheringمن صلى صلاتنا معنا هذه في جمع
, meaning the Fajr prayer
and had stood at 'Arafah before that, for an hour of the night or day, has fulfilled his obligations and completed his Hajj وكان قد وقف قبل ذلك على عرفات ساعة من الليل أو نهار فقد قضى تفثه وتم حجه
, so he linked the Fajr prayer at Muzdalifah with standing at 'Arafah, and that whoever combines the two pillars has completed his Hajj and fulfilled his obligations.
Today, people do not pay attention to the Sunnah and the hadiths; just take your hand and walk like this. The Shaykh : He said: For you, my dear friend. The Shaykh : He said: On what basis is this? The Shaykh : It is not known on what basis, until he knows. The questioner : The Shaykh : He said: And the matter ended.
So the Sunnah is on one side, and the people are on the other side.

The questioner : What is the saying regarding the well-known hadith: "Hajj is 'Arafah"?

The Shaykh : The saying in it is as the scholars said. Do you understand from the hadith that if one does not perform the Tawaf of Ifadah, he has no Hajj? You will say: No. This is Arabic speech in the Arabic style,
Hajj is 'Arafah الحج عرفة
, meaning an exaggeration in explaining the importance of standing at 'Arafah.
This is like, for example, "There is no young man except 'Ali." Are there no young men other than 'Ali? There are many young men, but there is none like him. So here, the negation of the genus is to affirm the specificity of this exception from the genus. So when he (peace be upon him) says:
Hajj is 'Arafahالحج عرفة
.
It is as if he is saying: The entire Hajj with all its pillars is gathered in standing at 'Arafah. But this does not negate the pillar status of other things, among which is what I pointed out earlier, that the Tawaf of Ifadah is necessary. So if one stands at 'Arafah and prays Fajr at Muzdalifah, then turns his back and walks to his country, his Hajj is not valid.
He must perform the Tawaf of Ifadah, not the Tawaf of Farewell. The Tawaf of Farewell is obligatory, whereas the Tawaf of Ifadah is a pillar. So "Hajj is 'Arafah" means an exaggeration in evaluation, as they say today, and the correct evaluation of the value of Hajj is due to standing at 'Arafah.

The questioner : Does one who did not stay overnight at Muzdalifah have no Hajj?

The Shaykh : Is there a difference between staying overnight and praying?

The questioner : Praying?

The Shaykh : Yes, the one who did not pray, as you heard in the hadith, has no Hajj; he did not complete his Hajj nor fulfill his obligations.
