The questioner : Regarding the recitation of the Qur'an after the death of a deceased person in the mosque for three days, from after the Maghrib prayer until the time of the adhan, by gathering the people with the family of the deceased in the mosque, and each person reciting alone whatever is easy for them during these three days?

The Shaykh : This is also one of the denounced religious innovations (bid'ah) that the people of knowledge must clarify to the people and warn them against, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) warned against it and said:
Beware of newly invented matters, for every religious innovation (bid'ah) is misguidance. إياكم ومحدثات الأمور، فإن كل بدعة ضلالة
Sunan al-Bayhaqi 17:1232
And the scholars are the heirs of the prophets, so they must clarify to the people what the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) clarified, so that they may thereby realize the inheritance of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in worship and calling.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
