The Rafidah: When Did They Appear and What Is Their Belief?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : We hear of a group called the Rafidah. When did they originate, and when did this group begin? What is their belief?

The Shaykh : Their belief is what concerns you. As for when they began in history, they mentioned that I do not remember it now. They rejected the opinion of one of the people of the House of the Prophet, whose name was perhaps Zayd, I do not remember now, but they rejected the truth that one of the Imams of the House had guided them to. As for their belief, it is a wretched belief, because they have very dangerous ideas about Islam. A book of theirs called al-Kafi is sufficient to show this. They believe in it as the people of the Sunnah believe in Sahih al-Bukhari. How do we say that the most authentic book after the Book of Allah is Sahih al-Bukhari? They believe in their book, al-Kafi, that it is the most authentic book after the Book of Allah the Exalted. This book contains many calamities and woes, and very many indeed. For example, they claim that this mushaf in our hands is a part of the parts of the lost Mushaf of Fatimah. They admit to its loss. Thus, with this belief, they contradict the well-known verse:
Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian. إنا نحن نزلنا الذكر وإنا له لحافظون
[Al-Hijr 15:9]
They have other beliefs, including cursingThe Shaykh : and accusing the Lady A'ishah, may Allah forbid it, of a heinous crime, and so on, which is too long to mention now. Please, go ahead.
