The Shaykh’s clarification that the Sa'i area is part of the Sacred Mosque after its expansion.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Among the strange things mentioned are people who forbid a menstruating woman from entering the mosque, yet permit her to perform Sa'i between al-Safa and al-Marwah. I asked this question and said, "How strange! You forbid a menstruating woman from entering the mosque, yet you permit her to perform Sa'i, and the Sa'i area is part of the mosque. What does this indicate? Instead, people are truly traditionalists... meaning they speak with the old logic. By the grace of Allah upon me, I performed my first Hajj when the Sa'i area was outside the mosque. I used to perform Sa'i, and I and the group with me would have a car or a cart pass by on the horses in the old way, and we would stop and stop. That was outside the mosque. So they speak with the same old logic, that it is permissible for her to perform Sa'i while menstruating. But look at the current reality. The reality is that the Sacred Mosque, praise be to Allah, has become very wide and very spacious, and the Sa'i area has become an inseparable part of the Sacred Mosque. How can you say it is permissible for her to perform Sa'i while you prevent her from entering the mosque while menstruating? The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) gave permission. In summary: The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) gave permission to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) to enter the mosque and to recite the Qur'an, but he forbade her from praying and from performing Tawaf around the Ka'bah. Therefore, it is not permissible for a person, whether male or female, to perform Tawaf unless he is in a state of complete ritual purity.
