What is the ruling on a menstruating woman remaining in the mosque?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward the honorableThe Shaykh : We hear a lot about the menstruating woman that it is permissible for her to remain in the mosque, and at the same time we hear that it is forbidden. What is the correct view?

The Shaykh : What I see is that it is not permissible for a woman to remain in the mosque while she is menstruating, except for an excuse, except for an excuse.
An example of an excuse: a woman comes with her family for Hajj or 'Umrah and does not go to her home, but stays with her family. In this case, if there is a dire necessity for her to remain in a place in the mosque, there is nothing wrong with it. But, praise be to Allah, in this place, the Mus'a (the area between al-Safa and al-Marwah) serves as a substitute for the mosque. The Mus'a is not part of the mosque; it is outside the mosque. Therefore, one should be mindful of this issue regarding those in i'tikaf (spiritual retreat) in the Sacred Mosque during the last ten days: they should not go out to the Mus'a except for a pressing need. And Allah knows best.
