What is the duration of sitting after the taslim in prayer? With an explanation of the prescription of saying takbir and tahlil ten times after Fajr and Maghrib before folding one's legs.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: His EminenceThe Shaykh : The hadith of A'ishah means that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said the taslim, he would not stay seated except for the duration of saying: "O Allah, You are Peace, and from You comes peace. Blessed are You, Owner of Majesty and Honor."
I used to observe your prayer to benefit from it and to seek out the Sunnah, so I saw that you stay seated for a longer duration than this. What is your answer?

The Shaykh : In all the prayers?

The questioner : No, only in the prayer I performed with you.

The Shaykh : Well, it is established for me that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever says ten times after the Maghrib prayer and the Fajr prayer, "There is no god but Allah alone, having no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise. He gives life and He causes death, and He is over all things competent," before he folds his legs, will be written for him thus and thus.
I have forgotten now; it might be four necks or something similar in terms of reward. So I adhere to this in most cases in my Maghrib and Fajr prayers, and I remain as I am and recite these ten tahlils. This is from one aspect. From another aspect, regarding the other prayers, it is true that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) did not stay seated except for the duration of saying "O Allah, You are Peace," as I mentioned. But this does not mean that he did not say anything after that; rather, it means that he remained in that state for that duration, and then either he would go to his house or turn to his companions. He might recite the rest of the adhkar or he might converse with his companions about what benefits them. So in my opinion, the issue in your question is resolved if you know that I sit in that sitting to implement this hadith which encourages the ten tahlils.
