Is it true that it is permissible to stand in prayer on the night of Friday individually?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Al-Huwaini: This, my Shaykh, is the ultimate goal.

The Shaykh : May Allah reward you.
Al-Huwaini: As for our brothers in Kuwait, we mean, if we go to them, it is only a quarter of an hour or so, meaning they will gather from all over the country, the important thing is that they seeThe Shaykh : and hear him.

The Shaykh : The important thing is that they seeThe Shaykh : even if it is five minutes before.
Al-Huwaini: May Allah reward you.
Laughter. The Shaykh : (may Allah have mercy on him) and Al-Huwaini.
Al-Huwaini: Would it be difficult for our Shaykh if we took the opportunity on the way and asked some questions?

The Shaykh : No, perhaps that would be a relief for me.
Al-Huwayni: May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And beware of that.
Al-Huwaini: Regarding the Shaykh we have in Egypt who issued a fatwa to his followers that it is permissible to stand in prayer on the night of Friday if they do so individually, for example, any night of the week in their homes, in order to get rid of this prohibition, is this method actually correct for getting rid of the prohibition?

The Shaykh : It is not correct at all; because the specification here is broader than whether one intends to stand in prayer on this night only or with the other nights, for the other hadiths say:
He prohibited standing in prayer on the night of Friday and fasting on its day. نهى عن قيام ليلة الجمعة وعن صيام نهارها
, so this is a nullification of such a general text first, and then it is well known that it is not permissible to go back and forth and to circumvent the texts of the Shari'ah. This man’s command, and we ask Allah to guide us and him to adhere to the Sunnah and to the methodology of our righteous predecessors, so this man’s command to his followers to stand in prayer on the nights of the week, first, this command is a burden on his followers and his adherents, and standing in prayer at night, as is well known, is from the voluntary prayers, so it is not permissible for anyone to emphasize this standing to his followers, but rather he should encourage them to do so and make them desire it, and then each of them should stand in prayer as much as is easy for him, as the Exalted said:
so recite what is easy [for you] of the Qur'an فاقْرَءُوا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ
[Al-Muzzammil 73:20]
, each of them stands in prayer as much as is easy for him without being bound by a system that his Shaykh imposes on him.
Al-Huwaini: He did not impose it, but rather he encouraged them.

The Shaykh : I say he imposes it in the sense that he organizes it for them, not in the sense of obligation that is above the Sunnah, where if one does it he is rewarded and if he leaves it he is punished. I did not intend that, but I intended organization. And in that case, this man, although I understood from you that he is upon the Sunnah, if Allah wills, this is a sign of evil on the path of the Sufi Shaykhs who also organized specific paths and models of worship for their followers to adhere to initially in the manner of voluntary acts, not in the manner of obligation, and then it becomes a committed practice over time, and they strive to adhere to it more than they strive to adhere to the Sunnah reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). And this is the origin of the paths and the origin of the schools, the origin of having a Shaykh; therefore, I advise this man to leave this matter. Every person should stand in prayer as much as is easy for him, with great care to avoid, excuse me, I said fasting and my tongue got ahead of me, but we are discussing standing in prayer, and they should avoid and pray the night prayer as much as is easy for them, and strive with the utmost effort not to stand in prayer on the night of Friday in any form, especially if it is with this organization that their Shaykh imposed, and I say again, their Shaykh.
