Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A young man works for a man from six in the morning until two in the afternoon, and from three after Asr until twelve. The man is very stingy, and because of his extreme stinginess, he does not provide him with anything, not even something to break his fast with, even though he works in a restaurant. This young man works in a restaurant. So, if the young man takes from the lunch himself, does this young man dispense with what he takes in the amount and quantity of what he eats and prepares in his home?

The Shaykh : It is not clear where he eats.

The questioner : I mean, this young man works in a place.

The Shaykh : Do not repeat your words. Answer the question. May Allah guide you. Where does he eat?

The questioner : From the place where he works. He works in a restaurant.

The Shaykh : You say the man is miserly and stingy. Do you mean that he eats without his knowledge?

The questioner : Yes

The Shaykh : How is it permissible for him to eat without his knowledge? Is he not given a salary?

The questioner : Yes

The Shaykh : It is not permissible. It is forbidden for him to eat without his permission.

The questioner : Well, how does he eat while at the same time he is working?

The Shaykh : It is not permissible for him to eat without his permission.

The questioner : The employer does not provide him with food.

The Shaykh : It is not permissible for you to eat without his permission.

The questioner : It is not permissible

The Shaykh : It is not permissible. It is not permissible.
