Discussion of the rights of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), mentioning some hadiths containing the etiquettes of dealing with him (peace and blessings be upon him).

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. From Abdullah ibn al-Shakheer, who said: "I set out with the delegation of Banu Amir to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and we said, 'You are our master.' He said (peace be upon him) Sunan Abi Dawud 4806. We said, 'And the most generous of us in favor and the greatest of us in speech.' He said Sunan Abi Dawud 4806. It was narrated by Abu Dawud with a good chain of narration.
What does the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) mean by his sayingSunan Abi Dawud 4806? The Messenger (peace be upon him) means by his saying Sunan Abi Dawud 4806, that is, when they said to the Messenger (peace be upon him), 'You are our master,' he said to them (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him) , meaning that the true master is Allah. And when they said to him, 'You are the most generous of us in favor and the greatest of us in speech,' or 'the most generous of us in favor,' he said to them (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him) Sunan Abi Dawud 4806, meaning do not open up for yourselves the door of deviation from the straight path by exaggerating in praising the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and magnifying him, for Satan will drag you into paths that deviate from the straight path, as he (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him) said Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah 329. Likewise, the Messenger (peace be upon him) points by his saying to the hadith narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, who said
We were sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when he drew a straight line on the ground, then drew short lines around it. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited, while extending his finger along the straight line: , and the exaggeration in praising the prophets and the righteous is one of the ways by which Satan drags those who exaggerate in praise into dangerous paths and leads them away from the Straight Path, which is a single path with no second. This is the intended meaning of his statement (peace be upon him), "and do not let Satan drag you away." In terms of the principles of jurisprudence, the Messenger (peace be upon him), by this phrase, "do not let Satan drag you away," established the principle of blocking the means to harm. He forbade exaggeration in praise for fear that it would lead to speech that is not permissible, as the Christians did. We request a detailed explanation of the ruling on using the word "Sayyid" (Master), for example, "Sayyidina Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)," particularly regarding the hadith "The Master is Allah." The answer is that "The Master is Allah" is undoubtedly an authentic hadith. There are also authentic hadiths in which the Messenger (peace be upon him) attributed mastership to himself rightfully. He said in Sahih Muslim, "I am the master of people on the Day of Resurrection. Do you know why?" Then he mentioned the hadith of intercession, which is a very long hadith. He also said (peace and blessings be upon him), "I am the master of people on the Day of Resurrection, and there is no boasting. Adam and those below him will be under my banner on the Day of Resurrection." So, there are two types of mastership: a mastership that is not fitting for anyone but Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and this is what the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) intended in the first hadith when he said, "The Master is Allah." Absolute mastership is what the Messenger (peace be upon him) intended in his statement, "The Master is Allah." The context in which this hadith was mentioned supports this. People came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said to him, "You are our master and the son of our master, and you are such and such," mentioning other descriptions as well. So, in the hadith, he said, "The Master is Allah." In another hadith, he said to them, "Say what you are saying, or part of what you are saying, and do not let Satan drag you away." We also understand from the combination of the two narrations that his statement (peace be upon him), "The Master is Allah," is a warning that true mastership belongs only to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). He (peace and blessings be upon him) feared that their exaggeration in describing him would lead them to associating the Messenger (peace be upon him) with Allah, even in terms of wording. This is because it is part of the understanding of the oneness of Allah that is hidden from many scholars, let alone others, that shirk (associating partners with Allah) has many categories. The detail that is currently practiced is as follows: shirk of belief and shirk of wording. Here, the Messenger (peace be upon him) forbade those people and said to them, "The Master is Allah." He feared that they would fall into shirk of wording, meaning that they would say a word that might be applied to the Messenger (peace be upon him), but its true meaning belongs only to Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He). To clarify this reality, he said, "The Master is Allah." And to clarify the mastership fitting for him (peace and blessings be upon him), which is naturally between his mastership and the mastership of Allah, and he repeated millions of times between the true mastership of Allah, this is the mastership about which he said, "I am the master of people on the Day of Resurrection. I am the master of the children of Adam." So, based on this detail, if a Muslim sometimes says, "Sayyidina Rasul Allah" (Our Master, the Messenger of Allah), and he only means the mastership fitting for him as a chosen, created prophet, then this is permissible without doubt, because he is truly a master. But if he says "Sayyidina" and includes in this word a meaning above the level of humans, then at that time it is said to him, "The Master is Allah. True mastership belongs to Allah (Mighty and Majestic)." We find that the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) rarely used this word of mastership. This is because the common practice among them was to say, "The Messenger of Allah said," "The Messenger of Allah said." It only came in a mawquf hadith in Sunan Ibn Majah from Ibn Mas'ud that he mentioned the Messenger (peace be upon him) with the phrase "Master of the Messengers." And even so, there is weakness in the chain of narration. So, if a Muslim sometimes says, "Sayyidina Rasul Allah," in the sense of clarifying that the Messenger (peace be upon him) has this mastership over all humans, as you heard earlier, then this is true. But the common practice is to say, "The Messenger of Allah said," "He (peace and blessings be upon him) said," as was the practice of the righteous Salaf, except in acts of worship, in the recitations and remembrances that came to us from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) as his teaching for us. It is not permissible for us to insert the word "Sayyid" into any of those recitations. This is because the Prophetic teaching for the Muslims is not lacking, so that one of us would come and add to it to make up for a deficiency. When Allah (Mighty and Majestic) revealed His statement: , they said, "O Messenger of Allah, we know this salam for you, but how do we send blessings upon you?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Say, 'O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim...'" He did not say to them, "Say, 'O Allah, send blessings upon Sayyidina.'" Here, I mention a common misconception to point out its error. Some people, and unfortunately among them are scholars, say, "What does it mean that the Messenger orders people to say 'Sayyidina'? He is the Messenger of Allah, humble, and it is not fitting for his humility to order people to make him a master and to say, 'Say, O Allah, send blessings upon Sayyidina.'" This is a negligence similar to the negligence of those who justify photography on the excuse that the Messenger did not know what would happen later. They forgot that this statement means every photographer is in the Fire. It is not from himself, but from Allah. And they also forgot that the statement of the Messenger, "Say, O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad," is not from himself, but from the revelation of the sky. It is Allah who ordered the people, the order of the Master of people, to order the Companions primarily and the rest of the people secondarily to say, "O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad." If Allah (Mighty and Majestic) had intended to legislate for people the making of the Messenger a master in the Ibrahimic prayer, He would have ordered the Messenger to say to people, "Say, O Allah, send blessings upon Sayyidina Muhammad." We approximate this: Do you see when the Messenger (peace be upon him) taught us the tashahhud and said, "If one of you sits in the tashahhud, let him say, 'The praises are for Allah'"? Is this glorification of himself or glorification of his Lord? Undoubtedly, it is glorification of his Lord. Is it permissible for us to say, "The praises are for Allah the Exalted," "The praises are for Allah Mighty and Majestic"? This is all glorification of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). It is not permissible. Why? Because this teaching is complete first, and then it is from Allah who ordered us to glorify and honor Him with these words, "The praises are for Allah, the prayers and the good things." If Allah had wanted to increase the honor for Him, He would have added these words and taught them to the Messenger (peace be upon him). So, this is like that. Just as it is not permissible for the one praying to say, "The praises are for Allah Blessed and Exalted is He, the prayers and the good things. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings, and His praises and His salams," and so on, so it is not permissible to say, "O Allah, send blessings upon Sayyidina Muhammad," and so on. The secret in this is that the remembrances are taqdiri, meaning teachings from Allah to the Messenger, and the Messenger in turn to the Ummah. Therefore, it is not permissible for us to say that the Messenger, out of humility, did not say, "Say, O Allah, send blessings upon Sayyidina." Because we say, if Allah revealed to him the word "Sayyidina," the Messenger of Allah would not have concealed the revelation of the sky on the excuse of humility. And if Allah did not reveal to him that, then it is even more so that it is not permissible for us to add something that was not revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from the sky. So, this is the answer regarding the mastership of the Messenger (peace be upon him). He has his fitting mastership by which he was preferred over all people, but we sometimes say, "Sayyidina Rasul Allah," to affirm this mastership, but we do not add this word to the recitations that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) taught us.
