The original ruling is the purity of a woman’s garment

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: It is customary for women’s clothing to be long, which sometimes exposes it to some impurities or dirt. Is it permissible to pray in it?

Answer: It is well known that a woman needs extra length in her garment behind her, such that it trails on the ground in order to cover her. This is a good thing, and it is what is sought of a woman for her covering and protection. Its passing over the ground is not a problem, and she prays in it unless she knows that impurity has affected it. In that case, she removes the impurity that affected it, and then prays in it.
As for what she does not know has been affected by impurity, the original ruling is purity. Its passing over the ground or the surface of the ground does not harm, and it is not judged to be impure based on mere doubt. And Allah knows best.
