Ruling on the purity of women’s clothing that drags on the ground

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q105: The questioner says: It is the custom of women for their clothing to be long, which sometimes exposes them to some impurities or dirt. Is it permissible for them to pray in it?
A105: A woman needs the extra length of her garment that is behind her and drags on the ground in order to be covered. This is a good thing, and it is what is sought for a woman to protect her and cover her. Its passing over the ground is not a problem, and she prays in it, unless she knows that impurity has affected it. In that case, she
removes the impurity that affected it, then prays in it. As for if she does not know that impurity has affected it, the original state is purity, and the fact that it passes over the ground does not make it impure, unless she is certain of the impurity in it. The original state is purity, so she prays in it. And Allah knows best.
