Requesting advice from the Shaykh on clarifying the errors many people have fallen into regarding creed, such as saying, "Allah is everywhere."

The Shaykh: Go ahead.
Wafi: I say that this kind of erroneous understanding has spread among Muslims, and even among some of the elite. This has spread in the matter of the Essence of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). Many Muslims say: "Allah is everywhere" or "present in all existence," and they know nothing about this topic.

The Shaykh : This is clear misguidance, despite the explicit Qur'an stating that the Most Merciful has risen above the Throne, and His saying, the Exalted: . And His description of His believing servants: .

The questioner : They fear.

The Shaykh : Yes: . Yes, and: . . There are many verses and many hadiths that clarify that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is the One who is free of need from all creation, that He is above all His creation, and that He is not mixed with His creation as these people you mentioned say, that Allah is everywhere, that Allah is everywhere. Far be it from Allah from what the wrongdoers say, in great elevation. In the authentic hadith: . Where is the place where they have gathered people in every location? Especially these places contain pure places and impure and foul places, they have corridors and bars and taverns and inns, and so on. How do they not purify Allah (Mighty and Majestic) from being in every place, while He says in more than one verse, as we mentioned, that He has risen above the Throne, and in the authentic hadith—and time is short—that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) asked a slave girl whom her master wanted to free. He said to her: She said: "In the sky." He said to her: She said: "You are the Messenger of Allah." So he turned to her master and said to him: The slave girl in the time of the Messenger was more knowledgeable than many of the jurists today. Because if you ask many of these people: "Where is Allah?" they will answer you: "Everywhere." And one person will be sitting and say: "Allah is present in all existence." Poor these people. Existence is created, and Allah was and there was no created thing. So did our Lord, after He created the created thing, hide in this created thing with all its filth?
