Does a woman sin by wearing shoes that make a sound when walking?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Al-Halabi : He saysThe questioner : Does a woman sin by wearing shoes that make a sound when walking?

The Shaykh : How could it be otherwise? Shoes with heels made of iron or similar metals that echo while walking are an application or realization of a Qur'anic text in another form. Allah the Exalted said:
And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment ولا يضربن بأرجلهن ليعلم ما يخفين من زينتهن
[An-Nur 24:31]
Today, this Qur'anic text is being violated not through hidden anklets, which you know are bracelets for the legs. This verse is being applied today not through anklets or women striking their feet to make the sound of the anklets heard, but through striking the feet to make the sound of the sandals heard. These are sandals with high, pointed heels, as we said. We know that iron is for some animals, but the matter developed and the sinful European civilization advanced, so they put iron on what they call the fair sex. Iron is meant for beasts of burden that carry heavy loads; yes, that is the summary. It is not permissible, and the woman should lower her gaze, and her walk should be one of modesty, softness, and deliberation. Glory be to Allah, we are very, very far from Islamic etiquette, and we claim that we want to realize the Islamic society. O people, if we do not realize the Islamic society in our homes, in our neighborhoods, and in our villages, we will not be able to realize it in our cities, in our capitals, and in our countries.
On this occasion, I mention the Sunnah, for remembrance benefits the believers. We, meaning those who claim to hold fast to the Book and the Sunnah, our women today are largely far from applying the Sunnah, that is, the Prophetic methodology. For example, the woman in the time of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), knowing that the roads at that time were not paved as they are now, would leave the front of the road for the men and walk along the wall, until her garment and outer robe would almost touch the wall, because the walls at that time were not smooth like our walls today, what Allah willed, but were made of clay, wood, and the like. So she would take the edge of the road, the side of the road. Today, the woman, what shall I say, braver? It is not permissible to say braver; I say less modest than the men. For she takes the front of the road and enters between the young men and the men without caring. This is not permissible. She must take the side of the road, on the right or the left. This is the modest woman that Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) mentioned and described the Ansar with this noble trait. Modesty is all good, and modesty is from faith. She said: "May Allah have mercy on the women of the Ansar; their modesty did not prevent them from seeking knowledge in religion." They were dignified, modest, and composed, yet in religion there was no modesty on their part. Today, modesty has been cast out of the hearts of women, except for a few of them. We ask Allah (Mighty and Majestic) to rectify us, and to rectify our women and our children, and to inspire us with guidance. This is sufficient, and we proceed to the prayer, the 'Isha' prayer, if Allah wills, and all praise is to Allah, Lord of the worlds. If there is anyone who wants to prepare, let him prepare for the prayer.
