The invalidity of the statement that the paths to Allah are as numerous as the breaths of creation.

The Shaykh : A second question will come: Do you believe that, in addition to these paths, there are those based on the superstition that says, "The paths to Allah are as numerous as the breaths of creation"? Do you believe in this superstition? Today, there are among Muslims those who say, "The paths to Allah are as numerous as the breaths of creation." Today, there are among Muslims those who say, "The path to Allah is as numerous as the breaths of creation." This is disbelief in Allah and His Messenger, disbelief in the Book of Allah and the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Why? One verse is sufficient to show that the one who says this word and knows the outcome of his matter is a disbeliever in Allah. One verse. Allah the Exalted said: [Yusuf 12:108] Did the Messenger command in this verse to say, "Say, this is my path," or did he say, "Say, this is my path"? He said: , a singular term in the Arabic language. [Yusuf 12:108] Meaning, to this one path, or as numerous as the breaths of creation? The answer is one: [Yusuf 12:108] So you, who say that the paths leading to Allah are as numerous as the breaths of creation, are you among those who followed the Messenger? No. The Messenger says: "My path," and he does not say "my paths." And in the other verse, Allah the Exalted said: [Al-An'am 6:153] This verse is clearer than the other verse. The first verse was content with Allah's saying: But here, He added to this meaning by saying: [Al-An'am 6:153] This is a long discussion, and we will not digress too much, so let us return to the one who asks this question. You know that Muslims today are divided in their schools, in their paths, in their ideas, in their behavior, and so on, in the greatest degree of division. If he acknowledges this reality—and he must, if there remains in his mind even a grain of knowledge and awareness, he must acknowledge it—then we ask him at that time: Is this from Islam? If he says, "This is from Islam," he has disbelieved in what Allah revealed, as you just heard. And if he says, "No, this is not from Islam," we say: Then what is Islam? We say, our statement is clear and evident: Allah said, the Messenger of Allah said, the Companions of the Messenger of Allah said. This is Islam. What do you have for Islam? If he agrees with us in this, where is the extremism and where is the harshness? I know what they are aiming at. They want every Muslim to be, for example, a philosopher, an astronomer, a geographer, an inventor, and so on. This is impossible, just as if we said, "We want every Muslim to be an exegete, a hadith scholar, a jurist, a linguist, and so on." I do not know. This is impossible. But the Muslim community, the Muslim community, if we assume it to be one hundred people, this hundred must, as a group, fulfill the obligation of these sciences. One, for example, specializes in the Shari'ah, dealing with the law, hadith, tafsir, and fiqh. Another specializes in language, a third in medicine, a fourth in chemistry, in physics, and so on. This group fulfills this collective obligation. But you want those who call to following the Book and the Sunnah to be an expert in astronomy? You are demanding nonsense, because I am calling you to be an expert in hadith, to be an expert in tafsir, to be an expert in fiqh, and you are ignorant. And so such a question comes from you. In summary, the one who asks this question does not know what the Salafi call is. And if he knows that it is understanding Islam according to the Book and the Sunnah and what the righteous Salaf were upon, and he disavows that, then he is not of Islam in any way. And praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. Yes.
Say, "This is my way; I invite to Allah with insight, I and those who follow me. And exalted is Allah; and I am not of those who associate others with Him."
Say, "This is my path."
I invite to Allah
I invite to Allah with insight.
Say, "This is my way; I invite to Allah with insight, I and those who follow me.
And that this is My straight path.
And, [moreover], this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways, for you will be separated from His way
Say, "This is my path."
قل هذه سبيليand do not follow [other] ways, for you will be separated from His way
