Continuation of the ruling on mubahalah in worldly matters?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The reason for my mistake is you, do you know why?
Abu Layla : Because I am concerned with the cables...

The Shaykh : It is not just this; this answer is like that answer, meaning there is a summary. The reason is that you always advise your brothers to submit new questions that are not repetitive. This question is being raised for the first time, so you should have been overjoyed and said, "Help, help, O Master Ahmad!" But I did not see you move at all. That is what we need to reach. I say, may Allah bless you. The answer to this question is that it is not permissible to extend this incident or this legal ruling to material matters for two reasons. First, because the story occurred in matters of creed, as they say today. Second, Islam established a system and a rule for material matters, so He said:
The proof is due from the claimant, and the oath is due from the one the claim is made against. البينة على المدعي و اليمين على ما أنكر
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1341Sahih (Darussalam)
Thus, this material case is resolved by this legal rule, leaving no room for resorting to mubahalah, which Allah (Mighty and Majestic) prescribed between the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and those Christians from Najran who denied the oneness of Allah and persisted in the Trinity. However, if it is necessary to extend the case to another aspect that is not specified in any report or hadith regarding that aspect, it can be extended to a disagreement between two parties among Muslims who differ in some ideas or some beliefs, such as the Mu'tazilah and the people of the Sunnah. It is possible that if a Mu'tazili is stubborn, the Sunni may demand mubahalah from him, asking who of us is in the wrong, after the discussion and after each party has presented evidence to the other. One of them must be stubborn, so we place the curse of Allah upon the liars. That case can be extended to such a situation due to the similarity between them. As for the question of extending it to material matters, this is not permissible for the reasons I mentioned to you just now.

The questioner : May Allah bless you and reward you with good.

The Shaykh: And you too
