The Mubahalah Between the Messenger and the Christians
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 6238 ):
Q4: The mubahalah that took place between the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and the Christians during his time, which is mentioned in the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Ali 'Imran 3:61] to the end of the noble verse, is it specific to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? And if it is not, is it specific to the Christians ?
A4: Mubahalah is not specific to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) with the Christians, but its ruling is general for him and his Ummah with the Christians and others; because the original principle in legislation is generality, even though what occurred of it in his time (peace and blessings be upon him) was in his request
for mubahalah from the Christians of Najran , so this is a specific application of the meaning of the verse and does not indicate that the ruling is restricted to it. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
