What was not a religion in the era of the Salaf is not fit to be a religion today.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : These matters are clear to one who observes and scrutinizes. There are things that observers and scrutinizers do not notice, but the Lord of the Worlds, who sealed the religion with His saying:
This day I have perfected for you your religion اليوم أكملت لكم دينكم
[Al-Ma'idah 5:3]
, and the understanding of the righteous Salaf, among whom was Imam Malik, the Imam of the City of Migration: "Whoever innovates a religious innovation that he sees as good has claimed that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) betrayed the message. Read, if you wish, the saying of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He):
This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion. اليوم أكملت لكم دينكم و أتممت عليكم نعمتي و رضيت لكم الإسلام دينا
[Al-Ma'idah 5:3]
. And the end of this Ummah will not be set right except by what set right its beginning. So what was not a religion at that time will not be a religion today." What Allah willed, today the religion is not that religion. If Anas ibn Malik in his time said, "I do not know what?"
Abu Malik: Of your religion today, except for the prayer.

The Shaykh : Except for the prayer, and in the prayer you have done what you have done. If Anas ibn Malik were brought back today, what would he see? Allah is the Great, we seek help from Allah!
Abu Malik: Our Shaykh, it is well known, of course, the scientific jurisprudential principle that ... .

The Shaykh : May Allah reward you, Abu Yasir.
Abu Malik: On which the scholars have agreed, that the actions of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) in acts of worship are elevated to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ... .

The Shaykh : May Allah reward you, Abu Mus'ab.

Another questioner : ... I am Abu Suhayb.

The Shaykh : Abu Suhayb, you greet each other in any case.
Abu Malik: After returning, there is no sitting, our Shaykh.

The Shaykh : There is no sitting! Here, go ahead.

Another questioner : A fine principle, our Shaykh, I have established it ... in Saudi Arabia, I have not heard it.

The Shaykh : How?

Another questioner : The action I mentioned, or the principle I established, which is an Al-Albani principle, I named it: any action, or any detail of its details, on which the action of the Companions has not been carried out, is a religious innovation.

The Shaykh : Yes, exactly.

Another questioner : So this is sufficient, what Allah willed.

The Shaykh : We ask Allah to guide us and to increase us in guidance.
