If you accept the affirmation of the du'a of a man in whom righteousness is suspected, why do you not accept the affirmation of the du'a of the Friday preacher?

The questioner : My master, I want a simple clarification. I know the Sunnah, and praise be to Allah, regarding the prohibition of affirming in the aforementioned question, but I was in a hurry. Some of our brothers ask us: Why is the affirmation not measured by the affirmation of any du'a, and why does it not take this ruling? So we said, let us listen to the virtue of...The Shaykh .؟

The Shaykh : Clarify the question; it is not clear, or at least I did not understand it.

The questioner : Perhaps my style was not clear in presenting the question. I mean, some of the opponents, when we see them, say: You say that one of the permissible forms of seeking nearness to Allah through a means (tawassul) is for a man in whom righteousness is suspected to make du'a, and for Muslims to affirm his du'a. So why do you not accept affirming on Friday the du'a of Muslims, the du'a of a man in whom righteousness is suspected? And why do we not raise our hands, when the Sunnah is to raise the hands in places other than this?

The Shaykh : The answer is clear, because the Messenger (peace be upon him) did not do that. We are followers of the Messenger, and analogical reasoning (qiyas) in acts of worship is not permissible. The answer, meaning, does not need any of this detail at all. Why do we not do it? Because the Messenger did not do it, and because the Salaf did not do it:
This difference between us is sufficient for you, and every vessel emits what is in it.

The questioner : ... What does the imam want to do? He does not make du'a?

The Shaykh : It is enough that he is bearing the burden, as he (peace and blessings be upon him) said, the imam is a guarantor. He is bearing the responsibility for the validity of the prayer. Yes.

The questioner : Wearing shoes that make a sound which takes the place of the ankle bracelet in the past?

The Shaykh : The place of what?

The questioner : The ankle bracelet in the past, wearing shoes that...

The Shaykh : Yes, it is not permissible, it is not permissible.
