Does the believer experience pain at the time of the soul's departure?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : This questioner is from Jordan. He says, "O honorable Shaykh, does the believer experience pain at the time of the soul's departure?"

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them in excellence until the Day of Judgment. Death has its agonies and its severity. Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, said:
And the intoxication of death will bring the truth; that is what you were trying to avoid. وَجاءَت سَكرَةُ المَوتِ بِالحَقِّ ذلِكَ ما كُنتَ مِنهُ تَحيدُ
[Qaf 50:19]
And in the hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family):
Indeed, death has agonies. إن للموت سكرات
The departure, meaning the extraction of the soul from the body, is severe, but it may be light for one person and severe for another. Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, may make the departure severe for the deceased because of sins he committed, and this severity serves as an expiation for him. Otherwise, there must be some severity, because the separation of the soul from this body, which it has been accustomed to for the duration of life, must have the most severe impact. However, people differ in the degree of severity and lightness. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you.

The Shaykh : May Allah grant us and you a good conclusion.

The questioner : Amen, O Allah, amen.
