What is the ruling on wearing gold or silk, or letting the garment hang below the ankles, for a young boy who has not reached the age of discernment?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Regarding wearing silk or gold, or letting the garment hang below the ankles, for a young boy who has not reached the age of discernment?

The Shaykh : It is obligatory for the parents to refrain from dressing their male children in what is not permissible for them, so that they may be accustomed to the rulings of the Shari'ah from the tender age of infancy. The children are not yet accountable, but the parents are accountable. Similarly, the children are not yet accountable for prayer, but the parents are accountable for commanding them to pray and for its prerequisites, such as ritual purity, a loose garment that does not expose the 'awrah, and the like.
