Do you agree with Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah in his ruling on the permissibility of marrying two sisters through breastfeeding?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : That is all.

The questioner : There is one more question, or perhaps two, regarding the position of Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah on the permissibility of marrying two sisters through breastfeeding. Do you agree with him in this?

The Shaykh : I do not see that as correct; because the verse is absolute:
and that you take [in marriage] two sisters simultaneously, except for what has already occurred وأن تجمعوا بين الأختين إلا ما قد سلف
[An-Nisa 4:23]
And to the best of my knowledge, I do not believe there is anything that specifies the verse to sisters by blood; therefore, the claim that it is permissible requires a specifier for the verse. If one is found, then so be it; otherwise, we remain with the generality and absoluteness of the verse. So, have you learned of anything in this regard? I mean, other than the statement of Ibn Taymiyyah, have you found an explanation, evidence, or argument for it?

The questioner : On this same issue?

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : By Allah, our Shaykh, Muhammad Salih al-Uthaymeen, (may Allah have mercy on him), transmits it from Shaykh al-Islam.

The Shaykh : But I ask, did he mention any evidence for it?

The questioner : I do not remember.

The Shaykh : Is there anything else?

The questioner : Well, what is cited as evidence for Shaykh al-Islam?

The Shaykh : How?

The questioner : I say, what is cited as evidence for Shaykh al-Islam is the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
on account of fosterage as one is Mahram on account of consanguinity يحرم من الرضاعة ما يحرم من النسب
Sahih Muslim 1445i
?

The Shaykh : Why did we say we take the generality of the verse?

The questioner : Would this not be an explicit text regarding a greater number?
Al-Halabi : Let it be so.

The Shaykh : It is so; because if it were not for this hadith, we would not have understood the verse in its generality. Is that clear?

The questioner : Is that clear?
Al-Halabi : And even if there is nothing, but the question is like this.

The questioner : In fact, Shaykh, regardingAbu Layla : regarding the cassettes, the "Al-Huda wa al-Nur" series, I listened to approximately fifty cassettes and compiled their content into a memorandum. I mean, the content of the fatwa, the content of the issue, or the content of what is recorded in the cassette from a lesson titled such-and-such, just a reference like this. So I do not know, the brothers would like to benefit from this. It comes in one, two, or thirty pages, I mean, about fifty cassettes. One can browse through it in an hour and it is sufficient for him. So I do not know, do you agree to that?

The Shaykh : If I see it, I may agree and I may not agree.

The questioner : So perhaps I will send you a copy to look at quickly, it will not take much time.

The Shaykh : It is not hidden from you that when a person records answers, he may correct himself on some matters, even if they are formal, especially since we are in a time when the hearts of some who are on our methodology are filled with hatred, jealousy, and envy. So what do we say regarding our enemies in creed and thought? Therefore, we must be cautious as much as we can so as not to give these people an opportunity to fall into sin because of us, as much as we are able to do so.
