The questioner : From the questions of this questioner, he says: O honorable Shaykh, when an unmarried young man dies in our country, the women perform the zaghrudah when he is taken out of the house. What is the ruling of the Shari'ah in your view regarding this practice?
The Shaykh : The zaghrudah is originally frivolity and play, and it involves objectionable sounds, whether it is for the departure of a young deceased man from his house, or for a wedding, or for the joy of a festival, or something similar. It is to be prohibited absolutely. And when it is associated with the departure of a young unmarried man from his house, it becomes uglier and uglier, and I fear that this is a type of wailing. It is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he cursed the wailer and the listener, and he said:Sahih Muslim 934. Yes.

If the wailing woman does not repent before she dies, she will be made to stand on the Day of Resurrection wearing a garment of pitch and a chemise of mange.
