What is cupping

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is cupping?

The Shaykh : Cupping, yes.

The questioner : What is cupping?

The Shaykh : Do you not know what cupping is?

The questioner : Yes, I do not know what it is.

The Shaykh : From which country are you speaking?

The questioner : I am speaking from Jordan.

The Shaykh : Strange. Cupping is the extraction of blood by means of a cup. Do you know anything about this?

The questioner : If you could give me an idea, if Allah wills.

The Shaykh : They call it in Syria the air cup.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : The matter still requires clarification.

The questioner : Yes, if Allah wills.

The Shaykh : Those who usually practice or engage in this profession are the barbers. This is the barber who, in the past, shaved heads, but recently has come to shave beards with a razor. This razor usually remains, as I think, you know, with a sharp edge. So, with dexterity, he makes an incision in a part of the body. This is a special art they know. He makes five or six cuts like this on the body. The blood begins to flow out, and quickly, in the blink of an eye, he prepares a cup for it. It has a swelling on the inside of the belly, like a jar. He throws a paper into it and sets it on fire so that the air comes out of the cup. Then he places it on the part of the body he has cut.

The questioner:...

The Shaykh : Yes, so the mouth of the cup sticks to the body. And the nature of the air, according to the estimation of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), presses on the cup because it wants to penetrate into the inside of the cup, and there is no air between them. So the cup becomes a part of the body and does not fall off except by being pulled off with force. Then the blood begins to flow out of the body. The first blood to come out is black. When he notices that the blood has begun to clear, he then removes the cup. Then he binds the wound with a special medicine. This is cupping. In the past, it was done this way. Then they invented a machine, which is most like a plastic stamp, if you have seen one, the kind used to make some words or numbers. Have you seen something like that in your time?

The questioner : The ones in government offices, for example?

The Shaykh : So this simple device has blades on it. He presses from above, so instead of cutting with the razor as I mentioned to you just now, one press makes a simple cut. And in this way, he avoids taking the razor in his hand and cutting the skin time and again. This is an idea of cupping. Perhaps it has become clear to you?

The questioner : Yes, may Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh
There are no chairs.ما في كراسي
... Yes, my brother, this is a profession that I do not know and I am not a specialist in it, but I have mentioned to you a summary of it.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And you as well.

The questioner : Peace be upon you

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : Peace be upon you

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace

The questioner : e : I want to participate in this matter. May Allah preserve you.

The Shaykh : Please, go ahead.

The questioner : e : I think that Umm Ahmad told you.

The Shaykh : No, I was not here just now. I have just arrived.
