The Manner of Prostration of Recitation

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
When reciting the Qur'an, there is a prostration. How many times do we prostrate? And what do we say? Do we only say: "Glory be to my Lord, the Most High" three times? Or are there other supplications? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
The prostration for forgetfulness is the same as the prostration in prayer. One says in the prostration for forgetfulness, and in the prostration of recitation, just as one says in the prostration of prayer: "Glory be to my Lord, the Most High," "Glory be to my Lord, the Most High," and one makes supplication in it, and says:
O Allah, it is to Thee that I prostrate myself and it is in Thee that I affirm my faith, and I submit to Thee. My face is submitted before One Who created it, and shaped it, and opened his faculties of hearing and seeing. Blessed is Allah, the best of Creatorsاللهم لك سجدت وبك آمنت، ولك أسلمت، سجد وجهي للذي خلقه وصوره، وشق سمعه وبصره بحوله وقوته، تبارك الله أحسن الخالقين
Sahih Muslim 771a
He used to say this in his prostration, peace and blessings be upon him.
This is said in the prostration of recitation, the prostration for forgetfulness, and the prostration of prayer. Among the supplications is:
O Lord, forgive me all my sins, small and great, first and last, open and secret.اللهم اغفر لي ذنبي كله؛ دقه وجله، وأوله وآخره، وعلانيته وسره
Sahih Muslim 483
"O Allah, forgive me and my parents. O Allah, I ask You for Your pleasure and Paradise, and I seek refuge in You from Your anger and the Fire," and similar good supplications.
The point is that the prostration for forgetfulness is like the prostration of prayer. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
