Some believe that voluntary prayers or the regular sunnah prayers are dropped during travel. What is your comment on this?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Some believe, O honorable Shaykh, that when traveling, the voluntary prayers or the regular sunnah prayers are dropped from them. What is your comment on this as well?

The Shaykh : We say that the traveler does not have any of the voluntary prayers dropped from him; rather, the voluntary prayers are prescribed for him just as they are prescribed for the resident. He prays the Duha prayer, he performs the Tahajjud prayer at night, he prays the greeting of the mosque, he prays the sunnah of wudu, he prostrates for recitation, and he does everything the resident does, except for three regular sunnah prayers which he does not pray: the regular sunnah of Dhuhr, the regular sunnah of Maghrib, and the regular sunnah of Isha. He does not pray the regular sunnah for these three prayers because the Sunnah is to leave them. However, if he prays voluntarily before Dhuhr without the intention of the regular sunnah, there is no harm. If he prays voluntarily after Dhuhr without the intention of the regular sunnah, there is no harm. Likewise, if he prays voluntarily after Maghrib without the intention of the regular sunnah, there is no harm, and likewise after Isha.
The important point is that all voluntary prayers are not dropped from the traveler; rather, he is like the resident in this regard, except for these three voluntary prayers: the regular sunnah of Dhuhr, the regular sunnah of Maghrib, and the regular sunnah of Isha, for which the Sunnah is to leave them. However, if he prays voluntarily without the intention of the regular sunnah at these times, there is no blame on him. But Asr does not have a regular sunnah in the first place. Yes.

The Shaykh : This is a listener to the program who sent three questions. The listener did not mention his name here. He says in the first question.
