What is the ruling on raising the hands in supplication on Friday when the khatib is making supplication?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the ruling on raising the hands in supplication when the khatib is making supplication?

The Shaykh : Raising the hands in supplication on Friday, like making supplication on Friday, is not from the Sunnah. The Friday sermon was legislated for the remembrance of Allah, as the Exalted said:
O you who have believed, when [the adhan] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumu'ah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allah يا أيها الذين آمنوا إذا نودي إلى الصلاة يوم الجمعة فاسعوا إلى ذكر الله
[Al-Jumu'ah 62:9]
The sermons on Friday are not for teaching, because today’s sermons have become lectures. They may be scholarly and beneficial lectures, but that is not the nature of the sermon. The sermon is a remembrance and a reminder of what Muslims need in their current time. Therefore, it is even more so that the Friday sermon is not a place for supplication, and consequently, it is not a place for raising the hands, neither by the khatib nor by those sitting behind him. It is not established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at all that he made supplication in any of his Friday sermons except once. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering the sermon on Friday, a man entered and said: “O Messenger of Allah, the wealth has been destroyed due to the scarcity of rain, so make supplication to Allah for us.” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his hands until his armpits were visible, and he said:
O Allah, give us rain, give us rain اللهم اسقنا اسقنا
He (peace and blessings be upon him) did not finish his words and his supplication until the sky churned with rain like the mouths of water skins. The narrator of the hadith, who is Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), said: “The sky continued to rain for a Saturday, meaning a full week, until that man or another came, and the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was also delivering the sermon on the second Friday. He said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, the wealth and the families have been destroyed, and the paths and roads have been blocked, so make supplication to Allah for us.’ He (peace and blessings be upon him) also raised his hands and said:
O Allah! Round about us and not on us. O Allah! On the plateaus, on the mountains, on the hills, in the valleys and on the places where trees grow. اللهم حوالينا ولا علينا اللهم على الآجام والآطام والجبال ومنابت الشجر
Sahih al-Bukhari 1013
The narrator said: “The sky cleared until it was like a shield over Medina, raining around it but not on it.” Only in these two Fridays did the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) make supplication and raise his hands. From this, the permissibility of supplication on Friday for an emergency is derived. If the khatib makes supplication for an emergency, he raises his hands, and at that time, the people raise their hands and say “Ameen” to his supplication. Does the time end, or is it after?
