Is it permissible for the imam of a mosque to deliver a sermon between the units of the tarawih prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A fiqh question, if you permit?

The Shaykh: Go ahead.

The questioner : Is it permissible for the imam of the mosque, or the one calling to Allah, when he is leading the people in the mosque in the tarawih prayer, to give them a reminder during the break between the units? For example, reminding them of some matters, such as the excellence of prayer, following the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and pointing out some religious innovations and acts of associating partners with Allah? These are reminders, meaning?

The Shaykh : The answer is that it is permissible and not permissible. If the pointing out, warning, enjoining, and forbidding is for an incidental matter, then this is obligatory. However, if he makes it a system and a habit, delivering a lesson between every four units, or more than that, or less than that, then this is contrary to the Sunnah. If it is an incidental matter, then it is obligatory to point it out. As for making it a system, the standing of the tarawih, or the prayer of Ramadan, is pure worship where the Muslim turns to Allah with all his limbs, his mind, and his heart. This is the goal of the prayer of standing in Ramadan. As for holding sessions between two or four units as a system, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) did not do this.
