Discussion on recitation after al-Fatihah and the explanation of the long, medium, and short surahs of the final part of the Qur'an.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Then he recites whatever is easy from the Qur'an after it. It should be from the long surahs of the final part of the Qur'an in the Fajr prayer, from the short ones in the Maghrib prayer, and from the medium ones in the rest. The final part of the Qur'an begins with the letter Qaf and ends with Surat al-Nas. Its long surahs are from Qaf to 'Amma, its short surahs are from al-Duha to the end of Surat al-Nas, and what is in between are the medium ones. However, he should recite from the long surahs of the final part of the Qur'an at times in the Maghrib prayer, because it is established that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited in it with al-Tur, and recited in it with al-Mursalat, and recited in it once with Surat al-A'raf. Therefore, it should not always be from the short surahs of the final part of the Qur'an in the Maghrib prayer, but rather he should recite from the long ones at times.
