Enjoining good and forbidding evil is part of establishing the religion.

The Shaykh : This necessitates that we cooperate in righteousness and taqwa (mindfulness of Allah). If we see a person engaged in a righteous project, we should support him with our wealth, our bodies, our words, and our influence, to the best of our ability. If we see a person who is mindful of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), we should help him in his taqwa, in abstaining from what is forbidden, and we should encourage him to be patient in that. We should say to him, "Be patient regarding what is forbidden, and if your soul argues with you, be patient and persevere, and hold firm, for the outcome is for the righteous."
