Examples of division among the people of the Sunnah and the community.

The Shaykh : We find, for example, among the people of the Sunnah, those who claim to follow the Sunnah, and who are the people of the Sunnah? The people of the Sunnah are those who follow the methodology of the Salaf in their principles and branches; these are the people of the Sunnah. We find that there is disagreement among them that has occurred in minor issues that are not considered among the principles of religion, and yet they make this disagreement a division in the hearts and a difference in the hearts. You will find, for example, a disagreement in a minor issue of religion that is not considered among the major principles of religion, and yet they make this division a cause for differences in the hearts, mutual hatred, hostility, and speaking ill of one another. This is contrary to the way of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions. The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) disagreed in matters much more severe than what caused the disagreement among these people, and it is not hidden from us all that the Companions, when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered them to pray in Banu Qurayzah.
