Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : In this hadith, the hadith of 'Imran ibn Husayn indicates that it is incumbent upon one who is responsible for a group to check on their conditions and to ask. Pay attention, my brother. Where is this derived from? From the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) asking the man, "What prevented you from praying?" It is also derived from this hadith that one should not rebuke a person until he knows that he has done what is being rebuked. Where is this derived from? That one should not rebuke a person until we know that he has done what is being rebuked? Because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not rebuke him, but rather asked what prevented him. Had he rebuked him, he would have scolded him and said, "How do you leave the prayer?" This indicates that a person should not hasten to rebuke until he knows the basis for the rebuke.
This is also supported by
That a man entered the mosque while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering the sermon, so he sat down. He did not rebuke him, but rather said to him, "Have you prayed?" He said, "No." He said, "Stand up and pray two rak'ahs, and make them brief." أن رجلا دخل المسجد والنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يخطب فجلس فلم ينكر عليه بل قال له هل صليت ؟ قال لا ، قال قم فصل ركعتين وتجوز فيهما
. Likewise, it is incumbent upon the caller to Islam and the one who enjoins good and forbids evil not to hasten to rebuke until the basis for the rebuke becomes clear to him. Yes.
