The questioner : The questioner says: The honorable Shaykh, is it permissible for a menstruating woman to sit in al-Masjid al-Haram and listen to gatherings of dhikr? Please answer us, and may Allah reward you with good.
The Shaykh : Al-Masjid al-Haram is undoubtedly the best of the mosques. If the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered menstruating women to stay away from the Eid prayer ground, where people do not pray except the two Eid prayers, what can be said of al-Masjid al-Haram? Therefore, it is not permissible for a menstruating woman to remain in al-Masjid al-Haram, nor in any other mosque. Yes, it is permissible for her to pass through it if she is safe from defiling it. As for staying in it, this is forbidden and not permissible, even if her intention is to listen to sermons and lectures. Indeed, Allah the Exalted has made it easy in this time; Allah has made it easy for everyone to listen to a lecture or a gathering of dhikr through recordings. Yes.
