Explaining the wisdom behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioning Jibril, Mikail, and Israfil in the night prayer.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And [he mentioned] these three angels because each of them is in charge of something that contains life, but it is a life of a type different from the type for which the other angel is responsible. Jibril is in charge of the revelation, and through the revelation comes the life of the hearts, as Allah the Exalted said:
And thus We have revealed to you an inspiration of Our command. وكذلك أوحينا إليك روحاً من أمرنا
[Ash-Shuraa 42:52]
So Allah called the Qur'an a spirit because the hearts come to life through it. Israfil is in charge of what contains life, which is the Trumpet, for he blows into it, and then the souls emerge from it and settle in their bodies in a permanent settlement from which there is no separation thereafter. For in this world, the spirit is present in the body, but it separates from it. However, when the Trumpet is blown, the spirit settles in the body in a settlement from which there is no separation thereafter. Who is the third? Mikail, who is in charge of what contains life; he is in charge of the rain, i.e., the rainfall, and in it is the life of the earth after its death, as Allah the Exalted said in what we heard this night:
And of His signs is that you see the earth stilled, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and grows. Indeed, He who has given it life is the Giver of Life to the dead. Indeed, He is over all things competent. ومن آياته أنك ترى الأرض خاشعة فإذا أنزلنا عليها الماء اهتزت وربت إن الذي أحياها لمحي الموتى إنه على كل شيء قدير
[Fussilat 41:39]
So those in the heavens and those on the earth will be stunned at this
